Microsoft Word 2010



The soaring competition and advanced IT technologies have made marketers pay attention to effectiveness and proficiency of all work processes. As a result, there have been developed various applications that can simplify enterprises' work. Word is one of the most generally deployed document formats. Microsoft Word is a word processing programme which is designed for creation of documents, for example CV, letters, fax cover sheets, official reports, legal documents, brochures, manuals and so on. It is an effective instrument for students, businesses and even individuals to have got on their PCs. Word application was launched by Microsoft. Its original name was Multi -Tool Word. The first version was launchedin the 1980s. Since that time, there have been introduced several other versions, including the latest addition that appeared in 2008. The next version of Word is believed to be introduced sometime in 2010. It will consist of a lot of new features common to other applications in the Office 2010. Microsoft Word 2010 will contain new WordArt styles and effects replacing the old ones. Though Word is a component of the Microsoft Office system, it is also sold as a standalone product and included in Microsoft Works Suite. Beginning with the 2003 version, the brand name was altered to emphasize Word's identity as a component within the Office Suite. Microsoft Ltd. Renamed Microsoft Word into Microsoft Office Word. Microsoft Word allows users to type, format and modify text to be printed or viewed electronically. Microsoft Word is a low-cost word processing programme. The application offers boundless features and tools, and many users are familiar and generally use Microsoft toolbars. The word processing application offers tools to format fonts, add page numbers and clipart, and create tables and headers. Word's document formats are denoted either by a. doc or. docx file extension. The newer ".docx" extension stands for the Office Open XML international standard for Office documents and is used by Word 2007 for Windows, Word 2008 for the Macintosh.

It provides advanced document-formatting tools empowering you to write, edit, and organize your documents more effectively. It includes formatting effects, transformation utilities, special picture effects, expedient searching, co-authoring, and a lot more.

New and Improved Features 

Office Ribbon 

The Office Ribbon appearing at the top of the screen should look familiar to you if you have used Word 2007. Note there is now a File tab instead of an Office Button.


Backstage View

Click on the File tab and you will be taken to the Backstage View. This is where you can perform a variety of file management tasks (Save, New, Print, etc.).

 

 Paste Preview

Word 2010 allows you to preview the appearance of content before you paste it. The easiest way to do this is to place the cursor where you want to paste something and then right click on your mouse and look for Paste Options.

Navigation Pane

The Navigation Pane allows you to view the structure of your document and more easily search for content. If your document is marked up with headers, the Navigation Pane also makes it easier to view the layout of your document and rearrange content. To view the Navigation Pane at any time, click on the View tab and check the box next to Navigation Pane.


Insert a Screenshot or Screen Clipping
If you want to insert another open program or window as an image, you can insert a screenshot or a screen clipping.


Background Removal Tool

While there are a variety of new effects and color corrections you can apply to images in Word 2010, the Background Removal tool is probably the most notable. This allows you to choose only the part of an image you want to keep.


Enhanced Themes


As you know that the theme effects the style of the whole document, Word 2010 now comes with various newly enhanced themes, you may apply any theme from the Page Layout menu. The live previews  feature is also available, by clicking the theme buttons you will see a gallery which represents the available themes as thumbnail images.


Customizable Ribbon Button

Apparently the Ribbon button in Word 2010 looks like the one in Word 2007. But there is one big addition, you may customize the word 2010’s Ribbon button. In order to customize the Ribbon button navigate to the following option Office Button > Word Option > Customize Ribbon.


Improved Spell Checks

Word 2010 has added some new features to its spell checker, now it will detect the mistake and suggest changing the sentence.


Artistic Effects

In Word 2010 users can now apply a number of snazzy artistic effects to the pictures. In order to add the artistic effects to your document, Navigate to the following option Insert > Illustrations > Picture. Then browse and select the picture you want, Once the picture is added to your document, then the Picture Tools contextual tab is displayed and you will be able to see the new Artistic Effects drop down button over here.

We can protect inboxes from malicious attacks. And last, we can stay organized by keeping the right details in the right place.

  1. I haven't actually tried MS Word 2010 yet. Its buttons look more complex than that of 2007's. And I'm still on the stage of familiarizing myself with MS Word 2007. This article is enlightening, though.

  2. So this Blog Actually talks about Microsoft Office 2010. I already have this software and I can tell you guys that it is more better that 2007. It also has new features like saving your work as a .PDF file. So better upgrade and learn new things. Keep Exploring! God Bless.

Office 2007 offered a well-designed equivalent of the old File Menu, with clear options for saving, printing, and sharing files.Office 2010 nixes the pearl in favor of the File tab and introduces a "Backstage" view that puts all the standard File menu functions and more on a spacious menu, complete with print preview.So its better than the 2007. I choose office 2010..
